Itinerary

9:40am

Depart from Te Anau and begin your flight to discover the northern region of Fiordland National Park. Iconic Milford Sound is well-known for its startling beauty and standout features. A glacier landing is included on Milford’s largest peak, Mt Tutoko (weather permitting). You will be with the helicopter for approximately 50-60mins including the landing (time may vary). Includes 1 wilderness landing.

10:40am

Land at Milford Sound Airport where your Trips & Tramps guide will pick you up to go check in for your cruise.

11:10am

Begin your cruise experience upon one of the local operator’s cruises. A picnic lunch will be included.

1:10pm

Once you have arrived back from the cruise, you will then depart Milford Sound via the road for the hike portion. The Milford Sound road offers many short walks along the way. Your guide is happy to cater the hikes to fitness levels and motivation levels on the day. Generally, they offer a series of short walks in different environments from 5-30 minutes in length (e.g. Mirror Lakes, Lake Gunn, Marian Gantry and Gertrude Valley), or you can choose a longer 2.5 hour walk to Key Summit on the Routeburn Track. Both options will include short scenic and photographic stops.

5-5:30pm

Return back to your accommodation (If you have chosen the shorter walks option).

6:00pm

Return back to your accommodation (If you have chosen the longer walk option up the Routeburn).

For parties of 2 people who wish to guarantee a private flight, a third seat on the helicopter requires purchasing. If you are booking for 3 or more passengers, we must be notified at the time of booking if you wish to have a private flight. Flights are shared unless specified.
