Passenger Numbers:
A minimum of 2 persons or 2 full priced seats are required when booking any of our scenic flights. For parties of 2 who wish to guarantee a private flight, a third seat on the helicopter requires purchasing. If you are booking for 3 or more passengers, for a flight to be private we must be notified at the time of booking.
Minimum numbers don’t apply for charter flights.
Flight Duration:
All flight times listed on scenic flights or for a custom quotes are an estimate and can vary depending on conditions and landing times. There is no guarantee your flight will go for the time stated. The duration outlined for your flight indicates the maximum time you may be out, including safety briefing and helicopter loading/unloading. Allow up to this amount of time but be aware that flights may be shorter than times indicated depending on the time spent on the ground and course changes at the pilots’ discretion.
Helicopter Weight Restrictions:
The weights for all passengers and any relevant gear will be requested at the time of booking. This information is required by law to conduct a weight and balance of the helicopter. Please note our weight restrictions for each of our helicopter types includes gear/equipment.
We reserve the right to alter bookings and/or charge extra fees if the total weight will exceed those below, and an additional or different helicopter is required for your booking.
- Our HUGHES 500D can take up to 4 passengers. Total weight must not exceed 385kgs.
- Our B2 SQUIRREL can take up to 6 passengers (subject to individual weights) – Total weight restriction of 154kg for the front 2x seats. Total weight must not exceed 590kgs
Dangerous Goods:
Certain dangerous goods are prohibited to be be flown with any passengers on board the helicopter and there are restrictions with others. Any dangerous goods looking to be flown must be declared before the flight commences for any flights with or without passengers.
The dangerous goods restrictions will be sent for any enquiry such as a hunting charter but we do have a full list of dangerous goods available for viewing upon request.
Cancellation:
All flights are subject to weather conditions. If we are unable to fly due to weather, this is classed as an unforeseen circumstance and there will be no charge. We will do our best to reschedule your flights if able. We recommend having a back up date available in your schedule for flights.
Some of our experiences including exclusive packages and other operations may incur a cancellation fee if you decide to cancel the entire booking rather than reschedule due to the helicopter being unable to fly on your preferred date.
If your cancellation is due to unforeseen circumstances and:
– more than 24 hours’ notice is given, no payment will be taken from your card.
– less than 24 hours’ notice is given, a 50% payment will be taken from your card.
If no notice is given and you do not show up for your flight 100% payment will be taken from your card.
Pricing and GST:
All prices are in New Zealand Dollars and inclusive of 15% GST (Goods and Service Tax). We do not accept payment in any other currency. Your card issuer may apply charges for converting currency. These charges are applied by your card issuer; we accept no responsibility for these.
We reserve the right to change our prices. We will not change the price without prior notification. This may only happen in the unlikely event that a typing error has occurred and the price has been displayed incorrectly. In this instance, we reserve the right to withdraw your booking/order and offer at the correct price. Any unlikely occurrences will be dealt with at our discretion.
Prices include landing and concession fees as our flights include landings in the Fiordland National Park, conservation areas and special locations.
Payment:
Your credit card details are required when we confirm availability for your booking. We will require your: Card Number, Card Expiry Date and Card Holder’s Full Name. We accept Visa and Mastercard. American Express is not accepted. We do not take full payment until the day of your trip. By giving us your credit card details you agree for us to take full payment from your credit card in the event you do not show up for your flight and you have not contacted us prior to this time.
Payment must be made prior to any flight commencing unless other arrangements have been made.
Online Security:
We use secure 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology that encrypts your personal information and credit card details whilst in transit to prevent breaches of security. Credit card issuers usually cover their customers against fraud for online transactions. Check with your card issuer for details.
Covid-19:
Any cancellations made due to Covid-19 travel restrictions such as borders closing or lock downs will result in a full refund.
For the safety of our staff and other passengers, we will not fly any person(s) that have had or been in close contact with anyone that has been infected with Covid-19 until a negative result has been returned. There will be no charge to you if your booking needs to be cancelled due to this.
We are happy to reschedule any flights to another date if appropriate.
New Zealand Applicable Law:
This contract is deemed to be made in New Zealand and the law of New Zealand, and of no other country, will apply to all issues relating to the contract or arising out of the contract.
Privacy Policy:
Any personal information supplied to us will only be used to process your booking/order. We do not share your information with any third parties. We respect your privacy and will do everything that we can to protect it.
